An internship and volunteer opportunity is available in our organization for an individual seeking to gain practical experience in Research, Program Management and Community engagement.  For interested and motivated students, this position offers exposure to working with a Non-profit organization dedicated to empowering African youth through health, Education, Skills and Economic Development and Empowerment, Food Security and Nutrition Support and Community Development.

Subir Africa Foundation Uganda (SAFO-Uganda) is a Community-based nonprofitorganization working to improve the lives of vulnerable and marginalised groups around Masaka City and greater Masaka through participatory and collaborative approaches.  SAFO-Uganda’s core program areas are Health, Education, Economic Development, Food and Nutrition Support, Sustainability, Women, Children & Youth.

The program provides supervised experience in areas such as:

     • Research

     • Education

     • Community Engagement

     • Program Management

     • Mentorship & Networking

     • Technical Skills

     • Career Development

​

The Internship & Volunteer duration is:

　　　4-24 weeks for virtual interns and 1-24 weeks for in-person interns.  The daily work schedule will be based on our needs and the intern’s availability.  The intern will work under the direct supervision of Subir Africa Foundation Supervisor.

Minimum Position Requirements

     • Currently enrolled University students and Alumni.

     • Must have experience with Microsoft Office suite and be comfortable to work remotely.

     • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills

     • Detail oriented and Self-Driven

     • All Interns will sign an agreement with Subir Africa Foundation Uganda.

     • Interns will agree to operate under the values and ethics of the Foundation.
